Progress Update, Week of April 11th, 2022

During the week of April 11 the Gowanus Remediation Team (GRT) conducted In-Situ Stabilization (ISS) near the Carroll Street Bridge early in the week, before temporarily suspending ISS operations in order to commence Phase 2 dredging.

Phase 2 dredging began near the Union street bridge. Please note that the Union Street Bridge may be closed between 9am and 2pm on days when dredging is in progress at the bridge. Visit the GowanusSuperfund.com homepage for the latest bridge status updates.

At Degraw Street workers continued cutting drainage holes, installing a filtration system, and restoring the roadway. A partial street closure will remain in place on Degraw Street between Bond Street and the Gowanus Canal while this work is ongoing.
