Progress Update, Week of August 9, 2021

During the week of August 9 the Gowanus Remediation Team continued pipe pile installation along the canal-facing sides of the Carroll Street bridge abutments. Pipe piles are being installed to create bulkheads that will support the bridge abutments during future phases of dredging. Installed pipe piles are being waterproofed and filled with sand to prevent debris infiltration and cut to an appropriate height as needed.

The cable replacement work at the Union Street Bridge has been successfully completed.
