During the week of February 5, the Gowanus Remediation Team (GRT) continued the RTA 1 Capping Operation.

Concrete mattresses were delivered and placed along the bed of the canal to create an armor layer. Mattresses were placed between Union Street and Carroll Street.

Grout lines were reconnected.

Controlled low-strength material (CLSM) was placed in the canal to fill gaps in placed mattresses.

Divers were utilized to assess underwater conditions.
