During the week of January 22, the Gowanus Remediation Team (GRT) continued the RTA 1 Capping Operation.

Concrete mattresses were delivered and placed along the bed of the canal to create an armor layer. Mattresses were placed between Union Street and Carroll Street.

Controlled low-strength material (CLSM) was placed in the canal to fill gaps in placed mattresses.

Concrete was poured at the Degraw Street west bulkhead.

Divers were utilized to assess underwater conditions.
