During the week of November 13, the Gowanus Remediation Team (GRT) continued the RTA 1 Capping Operation.

Armor layer placement work continued this week. Concrete mattresses were placed along the bed of the canal to secure the newly placed capping material. Mattresses were loaded onto barges, transported north of Union Street, and placed in the target areas. Divers were utilized to visually monitor underwater conditions.Photos of construction activities are provided below.
