During the week of January 16, the Gowanus Remediation Team (GRT) continued mobilizing for the RTA 1 Capping Operation. The Capping Operation will place a layer of new material along the bed of the canal within RTA 1. Capping is expected to continue through Spring 2024.

During the week of January 9, the Gowanus Remediation Team (GRT) began mobilization for the RTA 1 Capping Operation. The Capping Operation will place a layer of new material along the bed of the canal within RTA 1. Capping is expected to continue through Spring 2024.

During the week of January 2, the Gowanus Remediation Team (GRT) completed Phase 3 dredging between the Carroll Street Bridge abutments. All dredging has now been completed for RTA 1! Over the coming weeks the GRT will transition our operations to begin the RTA 1 Capping Operation.

During the week of December 26, the Gowanus Remediation Team (GRT) continued Phase 3 Dredging near the Union Street Bridge and the Carroll Street Bridge abutments. Dredging also took place north of Union Street near the Flushing Tunnel.
