During the week of January 23, the Gowanus Remediation Team (GRT) began the. Material transportation piping installation was completed. Layering of material began within the test area. As the first phase of capping begins, this test will ensure that all equipment is calibrated correctly.

During the week of January 16, the Gowanus Remediation Team (GRT) continued mobilizing for the RTA 1 Capping Operation. The Capping Operation will place a layer of new material along the bed of the canal within RTA 1. Capping is expected to continue through Spring 2024.
