During the week of March 13, the Gowanus Remediation Team (GRT) continued the Demonstration Test for the RTA 1 Capping Operation. Capping material was placed and surveying of the newly placed material was conducted.

During the week of March 20, the Gowanus Remediation Team (GRT) continued the Demonstration Test for the RTA 1 Capping Operation. Capping material was placed and leveled.
Sealant was placed around the monopiles at the Union Street Bridge and at certain locations that were stabilized with In-Situ Stabilization (ISS).

During the week of March 27th and following performance of the demonstration test for the RTA1 capping operation, the full scale capping began at target areas within RTA 1.

During the week of April 10, the Gowanus Remediation Team (GRT) continued the RTA 1 Capping Operation. Capping material placement continued and results were surveyed.
This week the GRT began installing a specialized cap and ventilation system at the Carroll Street Bridge. Divers and equipment were mobilized. Sediment was graded in preparation for vent pipe installation.

During the week of April 17, the Gowanus Remediation Team (GRT) continued the RTA 1 Capping Operation. Capping material placement continued north of Union Street.
Installation of the cap and ventilation system at the Carroll Street Bridge continued. Sediment was graded in preparation for vent pipe installation. Divers assisted with installing a vent pipe at the western abutment. Sealant was placed at the bridge’s fender.

Installation continued for the cap and ventilation system at the Carroll Street Bridge. An installed vent pipe was adjusted to meet specifications. Completed work was surveyed. Sealant was placed over the cap.
