During the week of October 9, the Gowanus Remediation Team (GRT) continued the RTA 1 Capping Operation. Capping material was placed and graded north of Union Street and between Union Street and Carroll Street.

During the week of October 16, the Gowanus Remediation Team (GRT) continued the RTA 1 Capping Operation. Capping material was placed and graded north of Union Street. The excavator was transported south of Carroll Street for additional material placement.

During the week of October 23, the Gowanus Remediation Team (GRT) continued the RTA 1 Capping Operation. Capping material was placed south of Carroll Street. Sealant was placed at the Carroll Street Bridge.

During the week of October 30, the Gowanus Remediation Team (GRT) continued the RTA 1 Capping Operation.
Capping material was placed and graded south of Carroll Street. Sand and sealant was placed inside the Third Street Bridge monopiles. Capping material placement was completed, and preparations began for the armor layer placement. The material placement equipment was demobilized.
The next phase of the RTA 1 Capping Operation will be armor layer placement. For this work, concrete mattresses will be placed along the bed of the canal to secure the newly placed capping material. This week the GRT mobilized an excavator that will be utilized to place the mattresses. Mattresses were staged for upcoming placement.
Sealant was placed at the Butler Street and Douglass Street bulkheads.

During the week of November 6, the Gowanus Remediation Team (GRT) continued the RTA 1 Capping Operation.
This week the armor layer placement work began. The GRT began placing concrete mattresses along the bed of the canal to secure the newly placed capping material. Mattresses were placed north of Union Street. Divers were utilized to visually monitor underwater conditions.
Sealant was placed at the Butler Street and Douglass Street bulkheads.
