Progress Update, Week of May 25th, 2026

During the week of May 25, the Gowanus Remediation Team (GRT) continued RTA 2 Bulkhead Support System installation operations.

Bulkhead installation continued at the 6th Street Turning Basin. Installed sheet piles were backfilled. Drain outlets were installed.

Bulkhead installation continued near Bond Street. Drain pipes were installed.

Bulkhead installation continued near 9th Street. Drain outlet covers were installed.

Bulkhead installation continued at the 7th Street Turning Basin. Tiebacks were installed. Installed sheet piles were backfilled.

During the week of June 1, the Gowanus Remediation Team (GRT) continued RTA 2 Bulkhead Support System installation operations.

Bulkhead installation continued at the 6th Street Turning Basin. Installed sheet piles were cut to height and backfilled. Drain outlets were installed.

Bulkhead installation continued at the 7th Street Turning Basin. Tiebacks were installed. Installed sheet piles were cut to height and backfilled. Drain outlets were installed.

Bulkhead installation continued near Bond Street. Drain pipes were installed.

Bulkhead installation continued near 6th Street. Tiebacks were installed.

Bulkhead installation continued at the 6th Street Turning Basin. Installed sheet piles were backfilled. Drain outlets were installed.

Bulkhead installation continued at the 7th Street Turning Basin. Tiebacks were installed.

Bulkhead installation continued near Bond Street. Formwork was conducted.

Bulkhead installation continued at the 6th Street Turning Basin. Installed sheet piles were cut to final grade. Drain outlets were installed.

Bulkhead installation continued at the 7th Street Turning Basin. Installed sheet piles were backfilled. Tiebacks were installed.

Bulkhead installation continued near Bond Street. Installed sheet piles were cut to final grade. Controlled low strength material was placed.
