During the week of January 1, the Gowanus Remediation Team (GRT) continued the RTA 1 Capping Operation.
Armor layer placement continued. Mattresses were delivered and placed along the bed of the canal north of Union Street.

Concrete mattresses were delivered and placed along the bed of the canal to create an armor layer. Mattresses were placed north and south of Union Street.
Grout lines were laid for upcoming grouting operations.
Divers were utilized to assess underwater conditions.

Controlled low-strength material (CLSM) was placed in the canal to fill gaps in placed mattresses.
Concrete was poured at the Degraw Street west bulkhead.
